On this date in 1881, Henry McCarty, aka William Bonney, aka Henry Antrim, aka Billy the Kid (his most famous alias), was shot and killed by Sheriff Pat Garret in Fort Sumner, NM.

    If there is one movie that speaks to a form of revisionist history, it’s Hughes’ The Outlaw (1943).
    Paints Billy the Kid as a quasi-nice guy.
    Thank God Jane Russell was there to take my mind OFF of that…heh.
