On this date in 1989, serial killer Ted Bundy was executed in the electric chair at Florida State Prison. His last words: “I’d like you to give my love to my family and friends.”

  1. When we used to drive through Starke on 301 on vacation, I always wanted to take a few-block detour to drive by the state pen and have a moment of silence for poor Ted. My wife would never let me.
    The only copy of the Weekly World News I ever wanted to buy had “before” and “after” pictures of Ted Bundy. The “after” was after they sewed his head back up, post-autopsy.
    Now not only Ted is gone, but a great news source.
    The modern world is so sad.
