patterns of farce

I was watching MeTV’s Super Sci Fi Saturday Night last weekend, when I got to see one of my favorite Star Trek episodes, “Patterns of Force.” Sure, it’s heavy handed in its messaging and filled with plot holes, but I still like it for some reason.

Anyway, as I awaited the start of the episode, it occurred to me that it had some similarities to a certain Quentin Tarantino movie. So I re-imagined the show a bit — hey, Hollywood does it all the time, right? — and I came up with this movie poster.

Inglourious Trekkers

I guess this is how you spend Saturday nights when you don’t have a social life.

    • Imagine that scene in the picture above. Kirk looks down at Gill and says, “I know when you get home, you’re going to take off that uniform. So I’m going to give you something you can’t take off.”

Kirk produces a huge knife and carves a swastika in Gill’s forehead.

Spock says, “You are becoming most proficient at that, Captain.”

  1. John D.:
Well, you’ve given THIS old-time Trekker something to think about.

If anyone could put a “new take” on this episode, it would be YOU.,
(but there’s those damnable copyright infringements).

    Very good post.

    Stay safe out there.
