  1. John D.:
I actually like this movie, and not because of the acting…the plot is what grabs me.
I keep telling Wifey that if it ever comes on, to give it a look-see.
(paints a grim picture of a possible future).

    Good call.
Have a great weekend and roll safe out there.

  2. It was a great movie, but they are actually doing a TV series out of it. I’m not sure how that’s going to work but I’ll give it a try.

TV is giving me more hits than misses lately. Maybe they are figuring out exactly what we (the audience) likes.

    • I hadn’t heard about the TV adaptation until I read your comment, so I looked it up on IMDb. I’m generally skeptical about reboots and remakes. But sometimes they turn out to be pretty good. It looks like they changed Brad Pitt’s role to a female. That’s not too promising a start as far as I’m concerned. But the trailer looks pretty good, so I guess I’ll give it a try.

    • Oh, and I agree 100% that TV has been kicking ass the last few years. The number of must-see shows has actually become a big distraction for me this past year. New movies, on the other hand, seem to hold less appeal lately. I think it might be that TV’s lower budgets allows for more risk taking. The movie folks don’t want to take any chances at all, so it’s all reboots, remakes, and comic book adaptation.

      • I think, for whatever reason, TV is attracting better writers in the past and are able to generate some fairly good drama without resorting to formulas. I’ve also been distracted by the number of must see TV lately. Why am I still paying for Netflix when I’ve not had time to watch it in 2 months? I’ve been watching TV off of my DVR instead.
