  1. Hey, guys, thanks for the comments. Long story short, I’ve always viewed 9/11 as an act of war. That being said, an operation that turns airliners filled with civilians into suicide weapons, then intentionally attacking targets filled with civilians (i.e., the WTC) is an egregious violation of the laws of armed conflict. In other words, it was a war crime.

    I’d never included 9/11 as one of my This Day in Crime History posts, but I included it this year for a reason. With all this debate about ISIS, and whether they pose a threat to the US, it seems that some people — especially politicians and commentators — have forgotten how much damage a few poorly equipped terrorists can do if they’re clever enough.
