mad max: beyond beyond thunderdome

I have seen the trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road and it looks promising. I’m usually skeptical of remakes, reboots and such, but I’m optimistic about this one. It was directed and written by George Miller, who directed/wrote the original Mad Max trilogy. English actor Tom Hardy takes over the role made famous by Mel Gibson. I give this one a better than 50% chance of being a worthy addition to the series. What do you think?

  1. John D.:
    I think it’s worth a watch.
My only bother about it, is that it does’;t seem AS MUCH of a true “revenge”: film like the original.
I mean, in the FIRST movie, Max got to keep his “wheels”…(and a damn fine set they were).

I always looked at Max as the John McClain of the outback…lol.

    😉

    • It looks to be as action-heavy as the second one, which was my favorite of the original trilogy. Hard to say what the plot is going to look like, the trailer was pretty cryptic in that regard.

    • My optimism is cautious as well. But unbridled optimism has never been part of my repertoire. As for whether it’s a reboot or a sequel, I have no idea. The V-8 interceptor was in the trailer. That car was destroyed in the second flick, so it’s either a reboot or Max managed to salvage the car. Or maybe find another one. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

  2. I am excited about it for a whole lot of reasons. In fact, it is one of the two most looked forward to movies I have of 2015…..I forget the other one off hand. 😉
