cockneys vs zombies

I was scanning Netflix last weekend in search of some entertainment when I ran across this little gem. Cockneys vs. Zombies isn’t exactly high art. It is, as you probably guessed from the title, a zombie comedy. I’d say it was kind of like the bastard child of 2004’s Shaun of the Dead and the 1985 B-grade classic, The Return of the Living Dead. Two familiar faces in the cast were Alan Ford (Snatch‘s Bricktop) and Honor Blackman (Goldfinger‘s Pussy Galore). It’s filled with violence and gore and profanity and even a little rhyming slang.

If you like the idea of watching Bricktop and Pussy Galore killing zombies, you might want to check this one out. Here’s the trailer.

  1. John D.:
LOL…sounds like hoot and a half.
As soon as the trailer rolled, I KNEW it would be in the EAST END…LOL.
    (some things you never forget).
And Michele Ryan is in it…she was in a Doctor who episode (Planet of the Dead – 2009)
Yeah, she’s REAL easy ion the eyes.

    Nice find.

Roll safe (and zombie-free) out there.

  2. It was an okay movie…it’s currently being killed on the Showtime family of channels….they managed to get a few things in there that are strictly UK/European: i.e. a brawl between fans of rival football clubs….

    • I saw it listed on Showtime in the program guide, but it was never on when I could watch it. Fortunately, Netflix had it. BTW, I caught the “football hooligan” reference. Pretty perceptive for a Yank, I am. 😉
